What is INNOVA?

INNOVA is a technology-based idea hackathon organized by the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka. It challenges university students to develop innovative solutions aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The event is proudly organized by the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka powered by IEEE CS SYP TechX Initiative.

Team Requirements

  • Each team must consist of 3 to 5 members from the same university
  • Teams must include at least one female member to promote gender diversity
  • One team member must be assigned as the Team Leader, who will be responsible for all official communications and updates
  • Participants are allowed to be part of only one team

Any student passionate about programming and problem-solving can participate according to the team guideline!
Projects submitted to INNOVA must meet basic technical standards to ensure they are functional and demonstrable. Each submission should include a working prototype, demonstration video, or a clear presentation of the solution. Teams are encouraged to use technologies such as web platforms, mobile applications, IoT devices, AI models, or any other suitable digital tools. All submissions must be original, and proper documentation should be provided, including the project overview, development process, and how the solution aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Detailed guidelines will be shared with registered teams before submission deadlines.
